ROBOTANISTS Debut New Material!

ROBOTANISTS recently spent the afternoon with the folks at Gorillacoustic.com, and debuted an intimate acoustic version of their newest song, “Plans in Progress,” which is tentatively the title track for their next album, due in early 2011. Sarah, Daniel and Preston also chatted about covers, vinyl and robots. Check it out at Gorillacoustic.com.

“Their EPs “Close Down the Woods” and “Shapes and Variations” are incredibly addicting.

The second, a collection of covers made so completely theirs, I wouldn’t hesitate to put it up as one of the best cover albums of the past decade. It really is that good.

And any band that can take something like Jay-Z’s calculated hit “Empire State of Mind” and turn it into a beautifully melancholic ode to Los Angeles is a band that demands your attention.”
