ROBOTANISTS’ latest album PLANS IN PROGRESS,  was selected for 10 categories, inclduing Alternative Album of Year, and Album of the Year, as well as Record Of Year, Song Of Year, Best Rock Performance and more!

This is The Long Tangles’ first ballot appearance. Their debut album, SILVER CITY has been included in theAlbum of Year and Alternative Album of the Year categories, as well as Best Performance by a Pop Duo or Group for their track ” Ode the the wrecking ball”

The music video for ROBOTANISTS’ last single  “On/Off The Ledge” (Directed by Tom Kenney) is also on the ballot for Music Video fo the Year!

This is ROBOTANISTS’ 3rd year on the Grammy ballot. Last year they stacked up multiple nods, for their album SHAPES AND VARIATIONS, and before that their debut EP, CLOSE DOWN THE WOODS, was short listed in Album of the Year, Song of the Year and more!

Final nominations will be announced in December. Voting Members, get out there and vote by November 15th!

“yes, while both of the songs certainly make my brain want to scream out Mates Of State, they’re are so well crafted and full of energy that it’s not hard to look past all the easy comparisons between the two acts.  As for the other tracks on Finer Things, “I Want You,” “Sentiment,” and “San Ve San” are all solid, upbeat pop tunes that you’ll probably find stuck in your head at some point.  There’s also the breezy and effortless gem that is “Maricopa County,” which is so good it left me wishing that Finer Things had a few more like it.”

The track is cut from TWO GUNS‘ recently finished second LP, Far People in Far Places, (due out in October), an album that has already been hailed by the OC weekly as a musical “out of body experience!”

TWO GUNS hails from Long Beach, California and is comprised of frontman Kevin Poush (vocals, gutar) and his musical conspirators, Aaron Bradford (keys), Brad Lindsay (guitar), Harris Pittman (bass) and Gabe Palmer (drums). Amidst touring, the quintet recently finished their second LP, Far People in Far Places, and were joined in the studio by the musical talents of friends, Dina Waxman, Lauren Trickett, Peter Mansen and Erick Nieto on the album.

Already hailed by the OC weekly as a musical “out of body experience,” the group enlisted the help of Matt Wignall, (whose resume inculdes Cold War Kids and Mondo Diao to name a few), to produce, mix and engineer their sophomore release, and Sarah Register of The Lodge (Vampire Weekend, The Shins) to master the album in NYC.

The band’s 2009 self-titled debut reached as high as number 11 on the specialty radio charts in the US while receiving airplay from over 40 national stations including both KROQ and KCRW in the group’s hometown, and the album is still hot in the worlds of TV and film, as they continue to receive exposure throught both. Their music placement resume includes Jason Bushman’s Hollywood Je T’aime (produced by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld; Director of Kissing Jessica Stein, Legally Blonde) and  MTV’s The Jersey Shore among other programs, where the network used an impressive 8 of the 11 songs from the album.

TWO GUNS are seasoned west coast performers, having headlined legendary venues throughout the Los Angeles area, and shared the stage with noteworthy artists like Jason Lytle (of Grandaddy), The Bird and the Bee, Everest, and Iglu and Hartley. The quintet also made their SXSW debut in 2011, performing numerous shows at the festival before heading back to Long Beach to put the final touches on their new album.
