Overhead artists Gucci Piggy and Youth Vote recently appearred on last week’s globally acclaimed Mabson Enterprises’ 42-song compilation, performing covers of Carley Rae Jepsen’s smash hit “Call Me Maybe,” alongside Dan Deacon and others!
Both tracks were produced as individual side projects of Sarah and Daniel DeBlanke of ROBOTANISTS, who are working on a new album now.
LA TIMES had this to say about it, “check out a recent compilation on which experimental beatmakers, punk bands and random renegades deconstruct it in wild and wonderful ways. In addition to providing evidence of the song’s cultural impact, the collection, compiled by L.A. musician and promoter Kyle Mabson after requesting versions via social media, serves as a kind of mind-eraser.”
