ROBOTANISTS on Stage & in the Studio this Summer!

23 May

ROBOTANISTS are back in the studio and gearing up for summer festival Dates in L.A.

For the first time since 2010, the group is writing and recording a new album, one that is sure to be edgy and atmospheric, with a touch of the gushing melancholy heard on their debut, Close Down The Woods. They’ll be trying out some of their new material on stage at summer festival dates in the Los Angeles area, while they continue to write and record. The group will also be shaking up their live set, and including new members and new instrumentation.  Vocalist, Sarah DeBlanke will be back on keys and guitar, and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Ihui Wu, joins the group on keys as well. The group will also play select dates in the fall with an additional string section. ROBOTANISTS’ yet to be titled new album hasn’t been scheduled for release yet.

“A drum/synth/vox Indie Pop/Indie Rock/Matrimony Rock duo. Blessed or cursed (depending on perspective) with the look and similar line-up of “Mates of State,” The Long Tangles produce a sound uniquely their own. Multi-toned synth and keyboard bass tones interwine with fiery and vigorous drumming to lay a strong foundation for alluring lyrics and layered melodies.”
>> The Austin Chronicle

“Highland Park’s Seasons really pile on the shimmering keyboards, fuzz-heavy guitars, saturated synths, loads of effects pedals and an occasional beating laptop, accordion or harmonica riffing in the background. Their sound is full and showy, building up to great heights then lilting low into soft, cuddly breakdowns.”

ROBOTANISTS heat up the Factory at SXSW…

5 Jun

ROBOTANISTS stopped by THE SESSIONS FACTORY  at SXSW this year with bands like Vetiver, Matt and Kim,  She Wants Revenge,  Fitz and the Tantrums,  Barcelona,  The Civil Wars & others, to perform 2 unforgettable sets! The concert was streamed live (acoustic | electric) during SXSW, but if you missed it then, you can catch one of the songs performed now at!

“ROBOTANISTS are one cool collective. The group joined us at The Sessions Factory and completely melted the warehouse with their firey energy and commanding sound. The fiercely talented frontwoman Sarah DeBlanke arrested the room of early afternoon festival goers, as ROBOTANISTS proved to be a band clearly on the rise. “
